Why wait for a completion certificate

Good after noon ,ive finished my iva 1st april this year,came into an inheritance but because my loved one died while i was in iva i had to pay all of debt.which is acceptable and ive paid in full now.my solicitor has asked why i have to still wait for completion certificate as i have paid in full,no answer please advise on this .many thanks

Because that is the procedure. Before the IVA can be considered as completed the distributions have to be made to creditors and everything checked before final accounts can be prepared, following Insolvency Service operating procedures. It shouldn't be much longer.

Iva closures shouldn't take that long but have been known to take up to 6 months.

If it were me i would be chasing weekly now for the certificate of completion especially as you have complied with all the terms regarding inheritance payments
