I have an IVA with Freeman and Jones and they have been inconsistent and unsympathetic from the beginning. I paid my last agreed payment in Sept 2019, and they have given me a supposed final figure to pay after 6 months from last monthly payment. I have managed to save some money since and they are asking why. to which I have replied the money that i would have paid into the IVA I have saved ready for the final figure knowing they would want something. Now that's not good enough for them. What I would like to know is, would there be a reason why this is not acceptable?
What can they do next?

Have they explained why there is this final amount outstanding ? That apart, you are still, technically, in the IVA and so they are looking for anything like a windfall you might have had, which would still be due to be paid over. If you can show that the amount you have saved has come from regular squirelling away of what used to be the IVA payments, they should be satisfied with that.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
