Been paid annual leave accrued from maternity leave in a lump...in total it's around £2000.
The thing is we desperately need the money. I need to buy my son a new car seat, pay a £200 electricity bill, pay back a relative £1000 borrowed, my son also needs a new pushchair and going into Christmas this would allow me to get him winter clothes and buy him a couple of presents without getting behind on our bills.
I spoke with the customer service team who deal with my IVA and they said that it was fine and to email them my payslip and a list of what the moment is going on.
How likely is it I will have to give them the money?
They have the discretion to agree to some of the money going on essentials. I doubt, however, that they will agree to £1000 going to repay relatives -- under the terms of the IVA you should not have borrowed this in the first place.
It is impossible to say how your IP will react.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
How has the £200 electricity bill accrued - this is concerning as might show that you cannot afford the IVA contributions.
Why was the loan necessary - again this is concerning not just because of the same reasons above but as Foggy has stated - you have likely breached the terms of your IVA.
I would be wary of buying a second hand car seat and I would also say you cannot pay back your relative at the moment. You can get decent second hand clothes from Ebay, local charity shops or some of the local places to you via Facebook.

Edf bill is due to us changing energy supplier which my IVA IP are aware of.
Car seat cannot buy second hand as it's not recomended (if there's even been a slight knock to the car internal workings of car seat can be damaged therefore not safe) we're buying a 25kg seat to make it last as long as possible.
Money was borrowed before IVA. wasn't included as a debt as was cash sums given in drips and drabs. My other half (not on the IVA) is self employed in the building trade and when we've had a week or so he's not been paid etc we've needed to borrow some cash to tide us over.
Pretty much all of his toys/clothes are second hand.
It does make sense - thankfully toys and clothes can be brilliant second hand. We did the same for our daughter and now our grandchildren even though our IVA was completed some years ago.

Know where you are coming from. Check Halfords or Amazon for the seat.

It can be held in abeyance until the end of the IVA if your family is agreeable and you can then pay it back.

we all have borrowed a bit here and there. You wont be able to repay the family at this moment or rather shouldnt do as terms of IVA state cant. If given in dribs and drabs its not really ‘a loan’ but still should really be parked to the side for the moment.
As for little one....second hand clothes and toys are fine for this age. Cant get great bargins. Christmas/birthdays be very focussed on what others can get....be practical and ask for specifics (and possibly the more extravagate gifts if family willing).
Totally agree not for a second hand carseat. Cant be too careful with that. And yeah get one that you will last through the various stages of growth.
It will settle down and the anxiety will ease once you get payments and budget more established.
I had my third child during our IVA and have learnt whats actually essential and necessary and whats a luxury we dont actually need.
Echo other thoughts re child seat - you mustn't be pushed into buying a second hand one ... the cargo is precious that will sit in and needs to be given the treatment it deserves!
