Hi, I am starting a new career in March and my new employer has gone through a security site to do checks on their new starters. I am in an IVA which an early settlement was arranged and paid off back in October 2017. The company doing the checks will be carrying out an 'FINANCIAL PROBITY CHECK'. I understand my IVA will flare up on this check (they know about this), but will my missed payments etc be shown up before starting the IVA in 2016? I hope someone can help :-)

The defaulted accounts will show up for six years after the default dates ( usually the start date of the IVA) as will, of course, the IVA itself. If they know about the IVA ( and know what an IVA is!) they will not be surprised to see these entries. You had a problem and you took steps to resolve it responsibly. It is when there is a problem that hasn't been dealt with that the problems arise.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
