Oh The Dobster barks...just at birds and cats! Any humans approach,he wags his tail, bounds up and licks them to death!

He's all legs and I swear he's crossed with a kangaroo [:D]

These three bark at anything and Topsy sounds as though she is in pain as she yaps!

They do love people and other dogs though.

Don't you find it strange when you meet other dogs that are not sociable?

Dobby thinks everyone wants to play and can't understand it when dogs growl at him [:(]

My lab hates other dogs in his face Julie, he's fine walking by or sitting next to so long as they ignore him, get in his personal space and he'll snap. Once we were training him (retrieve) and another dog bounded up behind and stole his dummy..he snapped. I apologised to the owner but she had a right go at me so I suggested she taught her dog some manners by way of not taking another dogs posessions, she ranted and raved and moved on. Basically ignore him like he ignores you and he's fine. Cocker on the other hand loves and trusts everyone but I've had him from 8 weeks old, Lab came with issues at 2.5 yrs x

Dobby wouldn't take from another dog, he just taps dogs with his paws....blooming big paws I know [:D]

Good for you Lesley, telling the owner. If I think another dog isn't receptive of Dobby, I put him on the lead. On saying that, I did get all protective recently when a "silly" woman told me dobermans should not be allowed out.."dangerous breed"!!![}:)]

I'm ashamed to say, I had the last word and it was very loud and not nice [:I]

We always make sure that Lloyd is back on the lead if we meet any other dogs (unless they are his friends and he goes off to play with them). The other two are not off the lead at all although they are friendly.

I do understand that some dogs are not as friendly and don't like having their personal space invaded.

I can also see why your dog wasn't happy at having his toy taken from him Lesley.

We know the dogs who we can safely let Lloyd play with. The other two are not off the lead at all. If it's a dog we don't know then he is straight back on the lead.
