Hi
You can open any bank account without your IPs knowledge and you are allowed to save any money that you can from your allowance.
However you must declare all income at your annual review.

Hello Flashingblade,
If it is a basic bank account with no credit facility attached, I dont see why you couldn't obtain one. Is there any reason why you havn't tried basic accounts from high street lenders?
My advice would be to always keep your I.P in the loop, that way there are no nasty suprises. Is there any specific reason why you wouldn't want to tell your I.P?

Yeah i thought about claiming a benefit for my child that we are entitled to but dont claim cos i would prefer not to get it than the creditors get it.
I know its not ethical, but realistically and judgements aside, is there anyway i could be found out???

Hi
The claim would be offset against extra expenditure,so you simply inform your IP of the extra money but at the same time inform them of the extra expenditure.
I know how you feel,I really do,but it pays to be upfront and honest.

As Andy has mentioned you could always prove that your expenses have increased which would then be offset by your increase in income. I think that it is always better to be honest and upfront with your I.P, that way if something changes there are no suprises.
