I have just had my iva agreed. The thing is they want me to pay by standing order but i was advised to set up a cash only bank account and they only do direct debit. What can i do?

I would be inclined to contact the bank that you are now with and ask them if there is an account, that you can upgrade to, that permits you to make payments by standing order.

I suspect that if you are having your wage / salary paid directly in to your account every week / month, your current bank will not have a problem with upgrading the account. Of course you will not be permitted an overdraft facility.

Otherwise it may well be that you have to go through the process of opening an account with another bank.

Tell it like it is.

Hi
You could always ask your bank to issue a cheque[hopefully they will not charge] and pay this way each month.Your IVA provider will just have to accept this.
