Hi there,

I am currently in an IVA agreement and was thinking of doing Avon in my spare time. Is it classed as having an extra income??

Don't want to let it lay me down this time, drown my will to fly....

I used to do Avon, but I gave it up when I decided to go for an IVA - it was hard work, and I didn't make enough money to make it worthwhile.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I used to do it myself and it's only really going to be for family, friends and a few people at work. I just want to make sure I'm not gonna get reprimanded if I decide to do it because the money I will get will be used to buy toiletries from Avon itself.

I agree Gavin! My other half did Avon for a while and is currently arguing with them over £6 worth of goods they sent him a couple of weeks ago - he gave up months ago and they know it! It is more hassle than it's worth, especially if most of it will be going into IVA payments.

Princess B, I don't know how long ago that you did Avon, but things have changed - the price of books keeps going up, and they have switched to what they call 'fixed commission' on a lot of things, i.e. you sell something for £15 to a customer, you might get 50p commission rather than the 20-25% you used to get. And don't get me started on out of stock...

Hi
The technically correct answer is yes you would have to declare it and all of it would probably have to go into the IVA,adding to the argument that ALL extra income should be on a 50/50 basis.

Hi princessb,

Yes it's extra income and you will have to include it into the IVA.

This money would have to be declared to your IP and then potentially would have to be paid to your creditors.
