Just another quickie before my creditors meeting on Thursday, if I am accepted for an IVA and I accept the conditions etc who will actually be blacklisted so to speak.
Is it just me or will my address be included as well?
Just that I don't want my Mum and Dad or my brother to be refused credit of any sort because of my financial mess up.

Your IVA should not affect your Mother or Father at all.

Keep thinking positive thoughts. Your IP would't have taken your case on if they felt there wasn't a good chance of success.

I do empathise with your position but what you must remember is that there will be a solution for you no matter what the outcome. You are facing up to your debt difficulty and that is the correct thing to do. Think positive, there are other solutions available to you but you can cross that bridge when you have to (which will hopefully be never).

Yeh, again I know that you are right and as I've said before on other postings, just need to get my head sorted out.
Even on my letter from Payplan they said that they anticipate that my IVA application will be successful but the final word will remain with my creditors.
Probably a standard sort of letter but at least it makes good reading.
Roll on Thursday

All the best. Fingers crossed it'll be a positive result, but don't be suprised if the meeting is adjourned as this often happens.

Thanks for your wishes...
You've just opened another can of worms, why would it be adjourned?

Thought I might have. Lots of people think that everything will be done and dusted after the initial creditors meeting but what sometimes will happen is that your IP will have to adjourn the meeting. This can range from anything from discussing requested modifications from the creditors to simply trying to get at least one creditor to vote at all. Nothing to worry about but you should be aware of the possibility. This is all quite usual within the IVA process.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I was aware that a meeting could be adjourned but not usually the case as it adds more expense to the debt etc.
I will be prepared for it though, I've got one thing that I reckon that they will ask to be changed.
My company pension scheme but leaving it or suspending it is not an option and I will have to say no.
At the end of the day, its my life insurance and my 'retire thru ill health' insurance so its in their interest to let me carry on with it in case something (god forbid it doesn't)happens to me in the next 5 yrs.
Anyway, I will handle that when or if it happens.
Thanks again

Pensions seem to be a bit of a lottery with creditors but the good news is that generally we have found that creditors are happy to allow people to continue paying their work related pensions during an IVA. However, this is most certainly not a given. Fingers crossed.

As I said, I've got almost 24yrs invested into it and about 18 months away from paying a vastly reduced rate so leaving it is not an option and Payplan are aware of this. Hopefully they can convince whoever or if anyone disagrees with my continuing with the scheme.
It comes out of my monthly salary before I even see it.
Thanks gain
