If, like me you have trouble wielding a spade, and have upset too many peeps that you can't get anyone to help you then this is my tip for a nice flowery garden about 7 months of the year. I spent a few days in my home town a couple of years ago and with the permission of the local golf course I took a few (hundred) White and Yellow Gorse cuttings. they are now just beginning to 'grow in' and as a ground cover bush they are difficult to beat. Another good thing about them is once they become established nowt else will grow amongst them. So great for weed control too. AGH! Gardening. I'm terrible, I was only telling Skippy yesterday that I've possibly killed the lavender plant the staff bought me when I left! I seem to help the weeds thrive but kill everything else. I AM trying![:(] Nice piccie that though Ray, good luck for yours. X

Dave calls me Margo (as in the Good Life)! I do like messing around in the garden, but I'm not very good at it. I left my pink leather gardening gloves (don't laugh!) out overnight and they are now soaked, and I think they're ruined, which is a pain as I've got fuschias to replant!

I suppose if I planted gorse bushes it would stop Harry digging up the garden!

And a bucket of pond weed just to keep him happy!!!!!!!!!

Touch wood we haven't had any of that for a while - he's only been out of the garden once and broke the fence (and dented his pride!) trying to get back in!

they look pretty too Ray.. where do you get them from.. and how long do they take to establish.. my garden is wrecked off the puppy.. hoping to put something down that will stop him ruining it, other than concrete!!!
