I doubt you will get a new contract on any network if you are in an IVA or bankrupt.

We have had posters on here say that they can't even get those.

really. I thought anybody could get sim only over 18. In that case its best to make sue before you cancel the contract.

If you are BR or in an IVA you will struggle to get a sim only contract. It's still a form of credit and you can go over your minutes - the only difference between a sim only and normal contract is you don't get a phone.

I thought because it was on a 30 day at a time contract rather than say 18 months with a phone. It was only an assumption and I have looked at it to be honest, my 'really' remark was because I had not realised this was the case.

There are a few people on here and the sister site who have been refused a sim only contract.

If you stay with your current provider then you should be ok. Anything else and you will probably struggle.

I'd love to leave Vodafone (I'm currently stewing about their shocking customer service!) but I know I'm stuck with them. I might see if I can get a sim only contract when mine expires, but I'm not holding my breath!

Just upgraded to a nice sooper dooper phone with an 8 megapixel camera!

Better even than our digital SLR!

If you are in an IVA and either an IVA or Br, best to stick with the same company for now if you have a contract.

At least you can upgrade and get a better phone.

As I'll probably have to stick with Vodafone I think I'll go for the best phone I can have as I do like my upgrades!

You're the only one I know. No one else has been able to swap networks whilst in an IVA due to the credit checking.#

No thanks - I have a nice new top of the range phone.
