Now obviously I wouldn't be encouraging you all to drink in anything but moderation(!) (although drowning your sorrows can surely be therapeutic at times!) but I thought some might be interested to know that Threshers/Wine Rack has gone into receivership and there are some cracking deals to be had!

On my way home I picked up several bottles of £3.75 Leffe for £1.50 a pop, not to mention a shedload of half-price Chablis.

Not all shops are closing down straight away but if you're interested their website has a long list (sorted by county) of those that are. (I'm not sure I'm allowed to put the link but if you search online for Threshers it won't be too tricky to find. [:p]

Good news in time for Christmas I think!

Too far away for us[:(] but sounds like some people are going to get a good bargain there!![;)][:)] and I will mention it to family etc!!.so thanks confuzzled.[:D]..Shame to hear yet another company have gone into receivership though, I really do feel for them all [:(]

Ah cheap booze is always welcome!

I got into homebrewing just after I started my IVA as its the only way I can really afford to have a drink on the weekend lol.

I cut back for a few months on essentials and invested in some kit and now I brew 30 bottles of cider or beer at a time and 30 bottles of wine (Rose and White) so I have a shed full of booze at all times lol.

Whats great as well is that the wine is particularly good and very popular, people have even offered to buy it (But I can't sell as it's illegal and MR Taxman will break my fingers lol)

So I do deals and exchange it with family and friends for home baking, invites round for tea and a night in with a movie and a takeaway, mates get the food and I bring the homebrew

I would heartily recommend a little bit of brewing for anyone else who wants a good tasting cheap drink on a regular basis.

This was actually one of the biggest up sides when I moved to Prague.

Half a litre of lovely Czech beer for £1.20

I use to make homemade wine few years back....bl**dy lethal stuff...lol!!!!
