More manufactured rubbish to keep decent bands out of the charts!
I really don't want to think about Christmas - bah humbug! It'll be the same as every other year and I'll be glad when it's over!

O Skippy
Thak goodness someone else feels the same!!
i always spend more than I want to, have to spend the day with family when I would rather curl up with a good book, and then receive presents that I normally give to the charity shop. Very ungrateful I know, but it is now far too commercialised for my liking

The older I get the more I dislike Christmas for myself, but love it for the grandchildren and my youngest daughter, to see their faces is still magical to me x

Have to disagree there sorry ladies. I love the x factor and christmas is one of my fave times of year!! Prob just as bad as our boys aged 9 & 4. They've already started circling ideas in the argos book!!! Now I havn't gone that far yet. "oh when the snowman brings the snow" hehe

The X Factor was ok for one series, but I really think they shouldn't be able to release their rubbish every Christmas. As much as I don't like Rage Against the Machine I was very glad that they were no 1 last year!
I'd quite happily go away for Christmas, but as both our mums are elderly we wouldn't get away with it. When I worked in a call centre I volunteered to work on Christmas Day!
The problem is it's the same every year - our mums come to us on Christmas Day and we eat exactly the same food (they won't try anything different!) and talk about exactly the same things. On Boxing Day we go to my mums and do the same again.
This will be my 36th Christmas and I've had 34 Boxing Day meals (2 missed through illness and I'm still reminded of it!) and I swear we've had roast lamb every time!

I would quite happily go away for Christmas as well, but apart from the fact that I have no money, my parents are elderly and spend the time with us so we're stuck at home.
I went into my local post office today and they had Christmas cards out already.
It's far too commercial these days, far too expensive. Most people's common sense goes out of the window when it comes to spending and the majority of people have forgotten what the true meaning is.
I'll get off my soapbox now!
If they cancelled Christmas tomorrow it wouldn't bother me!

We went to the card factory the other day to buy a colleague's 50th birthday card and the shop is packed with Christmas stuff! Bit too early me thinks. x

Way too early. The Americans have the right idea. Get Thanksgiving Day out of the way in November and then the shops start doing Christmas.
Why on earth it has to start in August I don't know.

Christmas may be a little more exciting and anticipated if they started marketing during November but I guess with our lifestyles etc., people need to get it done, but surely the excitement is in the run up and not to have presents wrapped and cards written by September. x

My first hubby was connected to a religious organisation who do not recognise christmas and we didnt DO christmas for years. My daughter didnt have a christmas present until I remarried when she was about 7. I dont like the commercial aspect of christmas but I lookforward to the 3rd weekend in December when we get the tree out and then I wrap the pressies up. Mind you we take the tree down on Boxing Day evening as I cant stand to see christmas decs after christmas
