Hi Everyone

I seem to be having such a problem opening a basic bank account.
I have tried to open a Step account from Natwest and Coop account(from reading this forum) and both has been rejected. I'm at my wits end now as not having a account is very difficult. Please recommend me where else I can try.

Thanks for you help

I owe money to the following creditors:
Barclays
Cahoot
Capital One
Egg
Halifax
HSBC
Lloyds

Usually with the Co-op it is because you are not registered on the voters list, or perhaps you have tried to open something other than a basic account with them.

You could try Yorkshire Bank as that is supposed to be OK.

Otherwise, there are paid for accounts such as Secure Trust or Thinkbanking. They do charge a monthly fee, but you are guaranteed an account.

I can absolutely recommend the Secure Trust account if you cannot source free banking anywhere.
