i have a vat bill of 26000 to pay from the pub i used to run, we are now both in employment,but are struggling,can you give us some advice

Is this the only debt you have either from the business or personally? If so, you could try coming to some form of informal payments arrangement with HMRC based upon your surplus disposable income. If you have other debts as well, you may need to consider something more formal such as an IVA or even bankrutpcy proceedings.
