After wishing they would simply forget about little ole me - have had the letter to say that I have to go in for my OR interview in the first week of October to meet a Miss Seward.

Hope she is nice and has kids so knows how expensive they are!
I have to redo my I & E and up some things, worked out my travel (I travel by bus into work every day and a travel card costs me 7 pounds a day which is around 189.00 a month, this doesn't include weekends where I again travel in by bus) Am worried about this as the assistant OR picked it up as being excessive. I don't drive am taking driving lessons but won't have a test until December so am not sure whether I should be claiming for these as well - as obviously it will bring down my bus costs if I pass my test? I just don't want to do anything that makes it seem as if I am living exessively!

blimey buses are expensive, is there a travel card that would work out cheaper? You could run a car for that. Good luck with the lessons and the test.

thanks lily! it is so expensive! that is my travel card, I don't tend to buy a weekly card as sometimes I can get lifts home with people that I work with and I always seem to end up wasting money if I buy a travel card

I don't see how they could complain if that's what it costs Fudge. Could you not keep the receipts or something for your travel card between now and the OR meeting as evidence? Would not the cost of the travel card equate to about the same as you would be allowed in BR for a car?

Well I pay ten pounds per week for my daughter to go to school and thats not full fare so it would be expensive for an adult.

I was allowed £100 a month for petrol, £30 for insurance, £10 for tax, £50 for maintenance and £10 for breakdown cover so not a lot of difference really!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

good idea about travel card reciepts will keep them - its also because i have to get the bus at weekends too so that is why its so expensive I think I read somewhere that they allow you 200 pounds per month travel if you lived in london a travel card there for a day is almost 8.50! so it has to be fair across the country I would say!

Surely if that's how much it costs ... that's how much it costs ... so I am sure that the receipts should help Fudge. Unless you have to find less expensive travel means in inner London ... perhaps a donkey? But then it probably would come under your pet allowance! [:)]
