Hiya,
Just a quick question,
How long after sending the agreement and all the other documents back in should you hear something back?
I haven't paid my first fee yet - i cant afford to do that til next week at the earliest but my IP has said if it looks like its going to get difficult then she'll start the proceedings on the trust i make the 1st payment when i said i will.
I have 2 companies on my case at the moment which want just under 3,000 like LAST week [V]

hi
£3000 up front sounds a lot.
Usually you can expect one payment up front before company starts main work for you.
If you enter more of your details you will get further advice on the forum.

i paid 250 to get the ball rolling, you should have at least that spare if you no longer paying creditors.

Hi
The whole process should take 6 to 8 weeks from first step to the creditors meeting.
When you say two companies on your case do you mean creditors ?
If you are proposing an IVA your IP normally advises to stop paying all unsecured creditors, has yours said anything about this ?

hi again, thanks for the replies.
I owe just under 20k in all (2 loans, 3 credit cards and 4 store cards)
the 2 creditors i have chasing me at the moment is debenhams (GE MONEY) and i think the other is barclaycard (one of my credit cards anyway)
My IP has said not to make any more payments so yes i do have the money from that but like i said not until next week because last weeks money went on my childcare bill and this weeks towards my council tax bill. My loans aren't due to go out til the end of this month anyway so that was the money i was planning on using.
My payments were suggested to be set at £207 per month.

I think that there is confusion about the £3,000 here - surely this is creditors chasing you and not the IP?

sorry another question [:I]
One of the above creditors phoned me this evening asking for "goodwill payment", i politely told them i was in no position to make any amount of payment...i got all the usual jargon and then i explained i was in the process of applying for an IVA.
They were actually ok with it and said if i made a minimum payment to bring my balance down from £910 to £900 they would suspend any further action on the account for 2 weeks pending more information on the IVA.
I didn't pay it (dont have a credit/debit card) but they said they will phone back towards the end of the week.
I know i'm not supposed to pay any of my creditors here on in anyway,
What should i do? pay it in the meantime or not pay it and speak to my IP person tomorrow. And when they phone back what shall i say to them if i dont pay it? (unfortunately i cant get call waiting on my phone so cant ignore it)

What has your IP advised you to do in the lead up to your IVA? I was advised not to make any payments, but some people on here have been advised to make token pro rata payments to their creditors.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I take the view that if £10 buys you piece of mind for another couple of weeks, it is a tenner probably well spent. But just make sure that you are not bullied into making payments that you really cannot afford - after all that is why you are looking at proposing an IVA in the first place.

she said not to make any payments, I wouldn't mind making the £10 payment if it keeps them off my back for 2 weeks (these are people that threatened to send someone round for a chat)
I'll phone up my IP tomorrow and see what she says.
Thank you

Hi
I would stand your guns and pay nothing,as per your IPs instruction.I know it,s hard but it,s important to not give in.You would probably find that the creditor will be ringing up again, wanting another payment,in just a few days because it,s happened before on this forum to others.
You are insolvent and committed to an IVA,creditors must respect that.
