I am currently on a IVA paying £200 a month how ever i am still finding myself having to borrow money 2 weeks before payday. Can i delcare my self bankrupt instead and if so how do i go about doing this ?

Hi
Yes you can.
Just inform your IP and download the forms via the insolvency services website.There is a fee of £485 to apply for bankruptcy.

You should talk this through with your IP but ultimately yes you can go bankrupt at this point.

If you decide to go for Bankruptcy, I have been filling out the forms this week, they take some time, but the whole system is very easy to understand and present.

Or you can do what my IP advised me to do which was to miss the next three months IVA payments ... and then they will make you bankrupt and it will save you the cost!!

Your IP won't necessarily make you BR - it depends whether you have paid enough into the IVA to cover the IP fees, and also whether there is any provision in the IVA for the IP to hold back BR fees.

I missed a couple of months and used the money to pay my BR fees.
