hi, i am looking into geting an iva but have a couple of questions, i was injured in a road accident a year ago and may get compensation, would this be classed as a windfall in the terms of an iva?
Also I am currently single but if I ever did meet anyone during the iva would their income be taken into acount in paying, don't see why a new partner should pay for the debt my husband left me in.

Hi
Your compensation may be classed as a windfall[unlike in bankruptcy] so if you do enter into an IVA make sure that your IP inserts a clause to protect this.
If you find a new partner and he moves in or you move into his then your IP will need to check that you are paying the correct amount for your living costs, for example if he paid all the housing costs and bills your disposible income will increase and so would your IVA payments.Your partner would not be liable for your debts or be expected to pay for them.
