Shoot me if I have too many questions and you are all getting sick of them!!!
I presently have a HUGE mortgage of £2k which I know I cannot maintain. This means that I am going to have to move on and go into rented accommodation as I cannot sell my property. Renting from a Private landlord is my only option. This means I am going to have to transfer all my utility bills over to another property. Will I still be able to do this in my own name? My partner does not live with me, and I have no immediate family in this country who could help me should the utility companies turn me down.
I will also have to come up with deposits and first month rental, which I cannot do if I am trying to pay the mortgage as well. Do I stop paying my mortgage, tell the OR on the hearing date, or do I inform them at the OR meeting date? I am really beginning to hate my house now which is awful as I poured my soul into it as well as all my money. I just want this all to end. I am at the point where I am quite happy to just hand the blimmin keys back and be done with it all.

Cant you get on the emergency housing list with the council(ie-you will be homeless)
That way no deposit & i dont think you will be credit checked.not sure on that tho!

As I don't have any dependants, council housing is out of the question as strictly speaking, I am not homeless. Not too sure what my options are but I guess I will know on the 1 October!!!!!!!

Sue, you will have time to arrange alternative accommodation. If there's no possibility of you keeping the house, then discuss this with the OR. Once you are made BR then the house isn't yours anyway, it transfers over to the OR! And then it's up to him what happens to it, but they have 3 years to decide what to do, so don't panic - you won't be turfed out onto the street. If you are going to give the house up, then on the day of your OR interview discuss with the OR and it may be possible to stop your mortgage payments and save these for the deposit/rent. Regarding utility bills, I believe that some utility companies will provide pre-pay meters. But if you're in rented accommodation then i don't think your landlord would be too happy having new meters fitted, so another possibility would be to put them in your partners name but you pay them.

Hi
Sorry to hear your news!
If bankruptcy is going to occur you will need to find six months deposit to place on a property.
I suggest you start saving for the deposit and then move on. It would take a few months for your building society to get possession anyway.
The most important thing is to plan for your future retreat so that you can move on!

If I am presently paying all my utility bills, what is to stop me moving from where I am, rented or mortgaged, and phoning the utility companies up, telling them that I have moved, and wish them to effectively "disconnect" the services from that property and "connect" them to my new property? I cannot understand why I would have to transfer the bills into my partners name?
HELP!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Sorry Sue, mis-understood your post! If you're not including any utility companies as creditors in your BR then it should be fine just to transfer them over when you move.
