I have been in an IVA since March 8th and currently work 37 hours per week. It looks like I will need to reduce my working hours by 2 hours per week to cover 2 medical appointments that I need to attend every week. One of the appointments has been ongoing for nearly 4 years and work have been fine about this but now I have recently started to see another consultant and they will not allow me both. Will I be allowed to do this under the conditions of my iva - i do not want to reduce the amount I pay to my creditors and think that if I cut back a little I will be able to manage this. The alternative is to go off sick (because of my previous sickness will only get 1/2 pay for 13 weeks and then nothing) and then down the disability route (this has been suggested by my doctor). Hopefully this will only be temporary for about 6 months in the first instance.

Thanks

Hi Janey

If you can still manage to make the IVA payments by making some small economies in areas of your expenditure, then this would seem to be a sensible way forward as the IVA will be unaffected.
