I went BR about 1 week ago.

Payments that I made I made over the phone for things such as Council Tax, water, car insurance during the weeks before BR are now being rejected by my bank. This means, that on top of the predicament I find myself in, now I have no car insurance, am overdue on Council Tax and the water bill.

1) Can they do this? I guess as they have, they can!

2) What do I do when I meet the OR next week? simply add these to the petition?

Thanks as ever![:(!]

You need to sort this out with your bank. Has the account been frozen, and if so are they going to unfreeze it and allow it to continue or are you going to have to open a new one?

Can you argue with your bank that these payments have already gone through? if you made them 3 weeks ago then surely these payments would have already cleared from the funds in your account and the money has gone to the creditors as it were your insurance etc - if the payment has already left the account and you had the funds in there for the payments to clear I think that the bank has an obligation to pay them- I could be wrong ....

Open a new Bank account(s) in the meantime.Whether BR,IVA or DMP you can't rely on existing accounts.

I have opened a new account with a non creditor bank. But, payments made with switch in the week prior o the account being frozen, are being returned by the bank as insuficient funds, clearly not true.

I'll take it up with the bank.
