Hi all
i just had a strange phone call from Northern Rock.

For the past 4 weeks i have been getting at least 2 calls a day from them. I have answered them and remained polite. When i spoke to a supervisor there they told me that the system is an authomatic dialer one and the pnly way to stop the calls was to make an offer or token payment. I told them i couldn't do that and she told me the calls would continue until i paid.

I answered the phone earlier and the man on the other end said, oh i am so sorry to bother you, you dont need to speak to me our system has just not been updated and wont be until midnight as we have had notice from Phillip Gill and co today about your IVA. He said i would not be called again. Is this a good sign?

Well it's good news on the calls front but what was your offer within the IVA (pence in £1) bearing in mind this is Northern Rock.

When i was going through the process of an IVA Northern Rock was my biggest creditor and i never received one phone call from them only a letter in the begining yet the rejected my proposal outright and i had to increase the dividend yet the others harrassed me everyday upto 9 pm and they voted yes strange.

(I apologise for my keyboards poor spelling and grammar)

Maybe they have received the proposal I found the calls stopped a lot when it went out to the creditors, if you think once they have final conformation that the iva is proposed there is no point in wasting their time with the phone calls.

Oh great ! Well I am sure the auto-dialler will update at midnight and now your proposal is in it looks like you should be removed from their list. Fingers crossed !

Sometimes they just take sometime to update their list. Be patient Zoe.

Hope this information is of use

Stick in their Zoe. These calls often continue throught the intial setup process of the IVA and sometimes even when your IVA is accepted. Keep focusing on your debt free future.
