This is the pitfall of Debt Management Agreements - ie the creditors can continue to hound you throughout. Aren't you doing your IVA through Payplan? If so, why aren't they dealing with this for you?

The bottom line is that the creditor is entitled to appoint a debt collection agency and is no way obliged to accept your DMP offer.

Well how nice of them to land this on you,it totaly frustrates me how much stress these creditors are putting us under,if you had not bothered with GE then i could understand but you have done every thing possible to sort your situation out.
I realise they don't have to stop the interest thats why dmp is not feasable when you have large debts but if you say you have offered them a settlement figure what is there problem,i think it is pure bl...y ignorance.
I hope you wont let this ruin your weekend they are not worthy of that.
Do not give in i'd write to them and ask why if they have been happy enough to except token payments,knowing that you will be in a position to offer settlement have they now added an insane figure to your balance,it just doesnt make sense.

If you are doing an IVA via Payplan surely this sort of communication should stop ? If you are doing a DMP via Payplan, unfortunatley they can (and probably will) still take actions like this but surely you can forward it to a Payplan advisor to help you deal.
