I have a debt to the DWP for overpaid benefit - will this be covered by the IVA or written off in bankruptcy?

Hi jay

This debt will need to be included in both an IVA and bankruptcy, but will likely be repaid directly by the DWP in limiting your future benefits.

I no longer receive any benefits. When I contacted the collection agency they said this would not be covered by the IVA and that I'd have to continue paying it separately is this correct? Also I'm concerned that I might be asked to repay some Child Tax and Working Tax credits because some people I know have had huge bills after they were told they were entitled to the money?
Do I pay the total amount of all my debts or is some of it written off?

No - the Inland Revenue become a creditor in the proceedings, just like everyone else.
