Hi i was just wondering i am doing an IVA at the moment i am finding it hard to make a repayment in jan for eg i have to catch up with all my bills from over xmas, my company is shut until the 3rd and by then my direct debit would have gone out, what would happen if i was to cancel it for this month only then ring them up to explain the situation for this month only.

Hi Jo and welcome to the forum

I am afraid that you are unlikely to get much sympathy from your IP if you are unable to make your payment due to Xmas overspending. This does need to be budgeted througout the year, and if you miss the January payment your IVA will fall one month into arrears. Speak to your IP to see what they have to say about this, and made a New Years resolution not to be in the same position next year.

Stick at it,however tough it is.If you miss one payment it could be the starts of a spiral downwards.
