Hi Donna,

Welcome to the forum.

Most of the creditors you've listed are in favor of an IVA.

If you are owed money by someone and they ask for time to pay it, wouldn’t you probably agree? Now, if they said that they had a problem and they want to pay you say 25p in the £1 or they will have to go bankrupt and you would get 0p in the £1, wouldn’t you also agree to that as the alternative is nothing?

Could you tell us how myuch your debt is and how much you owe to MBNA?

Kind regards,

Hi Donna

MBNA voted yes for me and Barclays and Lloyds TSB didn't vote.

MBNA and Next Directory didn't vote at my creditors' meeting, Natwest voted yes and Littlewoods are a pain in the bum! They didn't vote and still contact me even now I'm BR - I wouldn't mind but I only owed them £80!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Hi Donna,

The creditors you have mentioned are generally excepting of IVA's (excluding MBNA, as at the moment it is a complete lottery).

Out of the creditors you have listed 4 use KPMG a company who vote on the creditors behalf. Those creditors are MBNA, Monument, Lloyds TSB and Nationwide.

Best Regards. IVA Experts

All the creditors mentioned above have historically been open to IVA proposals.

Did your IP have any feedback from MBNA as to why they voted no.

Hi Oliver
The only difference between me and my hubbys mbna was that his had been sold on or at least given to another company to vote on their behalf and mine wasnt he got yes and I got no, neither were behind up to the iva and both had only minimum payments , that seemed to be the only difference

Thanks for that. This inconsistency just highlights one of the most frustrating things about the IVA industry.

What seems daft is that surely the same person dealt with the proposal as it was a joint as such so one for the two of us and yet his was sent on and mine wasnt.

I think it all stems from the fact that his debt was sold on and therefore another company made the decision on his proposal.
