I filed for an IVA back in November 2006 with Debt Consellors which they forwrded it on to Synergie in January 2007 and now in June 2007 it is still going on now. I have just been told yesterday that i have to speak to a financial advisior now to see what he thinks off my situation because i have my house with 90,000 equity on it i owe 74,000 the Ip in synergie says now i would be safer selling my house and pay my debt or just see what the financial advisior has to say. So really after 8 months i am still up s--- creek without a paddle. Do you have any advise or what will i do now.

Hello mmc

I am right in thinking you have £90,000 equity in your property and £74,000 unsecured debt? If this is the case have you thought of remortgaging and capital raising to free yourself of the unsecured debt. Tony

I have tried but most off the mortgage lenders don't want to know you because my credit history is poor all because in November Debt Consellors told me to stop paying the bills becuase everything would be sorted out soon (8 months later still not)

You need to use a mortgage broker and they will source a deal for you. Tony

Hi
Have you paid any money to Synergi ?
With equity above your unsecured debt total[even when you started in NOV 06] an IVA was never possible for you.
I suggest you contact Tony asap

If any money has been paid to Synergi and they have advised MMC to go for an IVA despite the equity in the property this is very serious - surely Synergi should have looked into the equity before this. If they have taken money and there is no way that an IVA could be proposed there must be something that can be done as they are taking money under false pretences?

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Hi mmc
I really do hope you havnt been paying synergie since november they do not have a very good track record on this forum. I would contact Tony Parsons as soon as possible He has helped many people on this forum, and as Skippy said the equity should have been taken into account before synergie started taking money.
I really do hope you can get this sorted and again synergie seem to be misleading people, for there own financail gain.
This is only my opinion.

I have paid money to Synergie over the last 4 months. I even rang them today and i am still waiting for a call back. I just don't want to lose my house all i want is to get it sorted out once and for all.

They have known about the equity since last year because what they said was we will offer thay a lump some of £22,000 at the end off the 5 years and i would still pay £231.00 per money. If any one has any idea's please let me know.

matthew i am so sorry you found this company, they really dragged it out for me too, and they knew all along that my iva would fail, they kept every penny i had paid, speak to them and ask what will happen to the money you have already paid, and why have they taken payments off you when they knew you had equtiy, telephone them and ask for answers, ask to speak to the IP and don't get fobbed off which they will do and tell them you will get their regulatory body to intervene, i hope you get sorted, really feel for you this is a terrible company, i wish someone else would put in a complaint against them.

Well unless I,m mistaken an IVA is only for people who are insolvent and as you had equity enough to cover your unsecured debts you should have been told this and no money should have been taken from you.
Your options are to enter a debt management plan, offer a lump sum by remortgage to clear some of the debt and pay the remainder by DMP or to sell up and clear your debts.
I would,on the facts that you have given, think seriously about a complaint to Synergi regarding this and a full refund and to possibly take it further if they do not respond.
