I think that you are perfectly placed to find a suitable venue for the Southern meeting. Without spending too much of John's money - I would have thought if we could find a nice pub/hotel which would put a buffet on with parking, not too far from the public transport networks this would be OK - as conference rooms can be a bit stuffy.

Sometimes privately owned country hotels can be much nicer than the chains, but Travel Lodges are definately cheaper for stop overs.

Hi Melanie

I shall therefore put my thinking cap on!

Trouble with pubs on a Saturday night is that they tend to get a bit busy ... I will check out the Premier Inn bar over the next few days and report back. We also have the Marriot hotel next door which has a nice large bar area but may be a bit expensive to stay in! After all, we are all meant to be being frugal aren't we!

Good afternoon,

Frugal Friends Saturday May 10th Portsmouth.

Gwen and I will be visiting the Premier Inn where we plan to host the May meeting on Friday of this week, to organise the meeting venue, free car parking, and supper arrangements.

The normal price for a Double/Twin room overnight is £55.00 (bed only, English breakfast + £7.50). We will try to negotiate a discount, or maybe a free breakfast.

Can Forum Members please indicate:
1. do you plan to attend?
2. will you be bringing a spouse/partner/friend?
3. will you be staying overnight?

Soulgrowth, i have already tried to contact you through your website but with no luck, if you are available, would you care to join Gwen and me for dinner there this Friday at 7.00 p.m., also to help us decide on the arrangements?
