Hi Andy
Really wish I could be there as its a lot closer to Southampton than Birmingham. Lol.
I'm actually getting away for a few days on the Pride of Bilbao cruise ferry. I leave Sunday night and return Wed evening. We spend all of 4 hours there before our return journey. Its costing me £36 for sharing a 2 bed cabin and, if the weather allows I'll get to see what the Bay of Biscay is all about.
Apparently there is plenty of entertainment on board so I will be with you in spirit as I will be being frugal when it comes to doing the things that cost extra such as the cinema, casino and arcades.
Really would like to have been there to meet Skippy and say hi to Melanie. Maybe the next one.
Regards
Dave

Hi Andy,
would love to come and meet you all, but it's a tad too far for me, maybe next time. But I hope the evening goes well for everyone and you have a great meeting.
Best wishes
Mike

Dave,
If you haven't done the pride of Bilboa trip before and there is the slightest chance you may be seasick take some strong pills with you . I went about 2 years ago in March was absolutely fine until we entered the bay of biscay, didn't leave the cabin again until we reached spain. Aparently has some of the roughest seas on the planet. Was well worth it for the 4 hours in Bilboa though, nice place.

It's a shame you won't be there Dave - it would be good to meet you. Maybe at the next one!
Have a lovely time on the Pride of Bilboa! I have to say rather you than me though - I get sick in a car, let alone on a boat! One thing I have found that helps (and hopefully might help someone else) is the anti sickness wrist bands. It might be psychological, but I don't feel as bad as I used to.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

Dave
I have friends that do that trip a couple of times each year and they have a whale of a time. Apparently it is a bit of a booze cruise!
Have a good time!

Thanks everybody
Yup Mel you got that right. 6 blokes from the pub on a (cheap) booze cruise.
One of the reasons I'm in the financial position I am is because I took part in an expensive yacht race 4 years ago. It was 12 days sailing around Britain and Ireland and whilst going round the Shetlands we encountered a force 9. I'm used to sea sickness but have never actually suffered it myself even though I've had ample opportunity.
3 years ago I raced in the Caribbean and was one of the few out of 18 crew who could go below deck and re-pack the spinnaker sail between upwind and downwind legs.
You watch, I'll be back on here next week telling everyone how I spent 4 days hugging the cabin toilet. Lol.
Regards
Dave
