Has anyone ever hear of The Bankruptcy Protection Fund? I have just received at letter from them today and they claim the following

"We are very sorry to hear that you have recently been declared bankrupt, however if you are a homeowner the Bankruptcy Protection fund can help you."

the fund was set up to stop the increasing number of house repossessions as a result of bankruptcy."

"Our service will ensure that your creditors are repaid and that the bankruptcy is cancelled, making you solvent again. We will also instruct the credit reference agencies to correct their records."

Dodgy or not?????

I think someone else had the same thing, sounds very dodgy to me, they are on the make at your expense, no doubt. Stick it in the recyle bin, theres a chance it might be made into loo roll.

Sue, I have had a look into this one and checked them out (I have access to companies accounts via Companies House) - personally I would steer clear! D.

Thanks everyone!!! I phoned!!! What a load of B******s!!!!

If you have equity in your property and there is sufficient to cover your debts after they have worked out the p in £ with the OR, they in effect pay your creditors, you have to remortgage and pay them back!!

Now, if I had equity in my property, I would have remortgaged (providing I could pay the increased mortgage), one would have thought that I had the where-with-all NOT to have petitioned for BR!!!

They must think that we are all just a bunch of muppits, aimlessly wandering around running up debts just to say "stuff it, I'll declare myself bankrupt" and 28 days later apply for an annulment because I am so sorry, I did actually have the money to pay my debts.

To jump on my soapbox - Companies such as these should be restricted from operating. All they do is waffle in your ear, talk absolute **** because they actually have no idea what they are talking about in the first place and want to make a quick buck out of people who are struggling to make ends meet.

Ok, I'll get off now!!!

This happened in Scotland a couple of years ago where a Mortgage company was writing to people in Trust Deeds offering them mortgages as they made need to release equity for their creditors. I contacted the FSA regarding it and was told that as the names and addresses were public knowledge, London and Edinburgh Gazettes, and that as the mortgage company were not telephoning them but were writing to them, that they were actually allowed to do it. I just told clients to not open them and return them unknown.

They use the information to build up cheap databases for mailshots, just ignore them.

Just looked at this website though, sorry should have done before I posted back, total scam. I am reporting it as I type.

They have a freephone number as well - 08000437150. The person I spoke to insisted that I gave them a reference number for them to "retrieve" my details, so I guess without a relevant number, they won't speak to anyone! Sneaky little ....... oops nearly said it!!
