Channel 4 Dispatches http://www.channel4.com/news/dispatches/ are making a programme on credit cards. This will explore whether they are marketed fairly and whether credit card companies take advantage of vulnerable people, such as older people, to make money.

If you are an older person, and would like to be involved, please post on this thread or let Andy know. At the moment the programme makers are just looking for help with their research and people to have some background chats with, so do get in touch- it doesnt mean that you will be filmed or identified in any way.

Channel 4 Dispatches wants to look at the issue sensitively and fairly, and open up the subject to more people. If you have any questions, please post below or send them through to Andy!

Thanks,

Admin

I had clients last year who were in the seventies and had £171,000 owing to credit cards! They are too frail to take part in a TV programme, but it goes to show the vulnerability of these peopole. All of the debts had been incurred since they both retired.

I am not surprised Melanie- research out in the beginning of this year showed that people over 55 were more likely to go insolvent than people age 18-24!
