we are selling our home to offer a F&f settlement to end our iva.we are going to live with my parents for a few months until we get back on our feet[have 2 children another due in 7 wks].will our ip allow us to keep some money back to allow us to place deposit etc on a rented property that we may need in the future months.if so what do you suggest is a reasonable amount to ask permisssion to retain.

Hi Rach,

Firstly congratulations and best of luck with your expected third child.

Secondly Im not sure that your I.P will allow this as each individual in an IVA must pay back as much as possible. Also the creditors may argue that the money you were spending on your mortgage could be saved towards a deposit.

The best way forward is to contact you I.P and have a discussion with them about your concerns.

Best Regards,

If I were you IP I would allow a realistic relocation budget from the house sale proceeds. Has a variation meeting been called yet, and was provision made for this within the revised proposals.

we have now accepted an offer on our house so are now awaiting a f&f settlement statement from dfd.im just a bit peeved that dfd are charging us nearly 8 k in fees.we have paid 8.5 k into iva which started 3 yrs ago but have only just paid dfds fees off...its barely touched our actual debt!!!
