would i be able to get a mortgage during an iva? and would i be able to travel outside the uk on a working holiday visa for up to 1 year during this time?

Hi Rachel and welcome to the forum. You would be able to get a mortgage whilst in an IVA with the express permission of your supervisor providing that it didn't mean that your IVA payments would be reduced. You wouldn't be able to get the mortgage with one of the high street lenders so you would need to go through a broker.

Regarding travelling, I don't think that would be a problem providing you are still making the payments and keep your supervisor informed of your whereabouts. I seem to remember Melanie saying that she has clients who are no longer based in the UK.

Yes to the first - with your Supervisor's permission and at least a 10% depostit to put down (from money which is not yours)

Yes to the second - there are no restrictions on travel in either an IVA or bankruptcy.
