My partner is looking to by a house, which in time we hope to both live in. She is applying to the time2buy scheme, but because i would be living in the house my name would have to go on the application, and therefore any mortgage application.

Although on her salary alone she would be able to get the mortgage, because I would have to go on the mortgage, would i be credit checked, and would my IVA have any impact on the application. The reason that i wonder is because I am on the application but in name only. My income would not be taken into considatrion.

Does anybody know if this would have any impact on the application?

Regards

You would not need to put your name on the application form - but would have to sign a form (as you are over 18 and going to live there) - to release you from any rights over the property (should it be repossessed) - it would give you no rights over the property and you in effect would become a lodger. This would not affect on you partners credit record.
You being named on the form would link you to your partner.

As they are not planning to move in to the property together at the moment, would he need to go on the application?

Would not have thought on the application he has to be named - the lenders tend to present a form which you have to list everyone over 18 years living there - as you said Hapic - not living there at moment so no problem - keep it simple become "the lodger" later
