My IVA completed in June 2011 and I married in Feb 2012.
My 1st mortgage application has just been rejected by a highstreet bank because (after 1.5 hour application meeting!) they don't lend to people who've been bankrupt or had an IVA. It would have been nice to have been told this at the time.
To make matters worse, I've just checked my credit report and it says I'm not on the electoral roll. I am ... but in my maiden name! AHHHHH. I have sent my local council a letter but they won't be publishing an updated electoral register until October 2012.
So .... my question is, how do I get a mortgage before I lose the house of my dreams which is slipping through my fingers??
If it helps, the house is £168,000 and I have £35,000 deposit.
