Hi all, entered IVA in 2009 and completed in 2014 with no issues. Credit file ever since I've built back up with no defaults etc etc.
Recently reserved a new build and the financial advisor didn't put my IVA on application with Santander. It's still at underwrite but expecting to decline as he has contacted them since and notified them about IVA and their policy seems flatly against ivas.
Now speaking to another broker who is sure he can get us sorted however £799 fee.
Anyone aware of any high street lenders that are likely to accept?

Most brokers have fees in there somewhere. I would suggest a chat with Ryan and / or Shaun as refusals in your search history will scupper your chances.

It is true that refusals, as such, do not show up -- but several recent hard searches will tell the same story --- you don't keep applying if you have been accepted !

Unfortunately the majority of mainstream mortgage brokers (I'm afraid to say often the inexperienced ones working with new builds) don't have a clue about placing specialist mortgages and Santander don't tend to be the most sympathetic either. If the other broker you are speaking to is a specialist he will probably more than save you his fee in the long-run. Personally I'd avoid one who wants significant money up-front and instead use one who charges only on success.

Ok so first broker was a waste of time and now 2nd broker has got us a mortgage offer today with Halifax. It was strange as Halifax website states have you been discharged from an IVA within 6yrs yet on the application and when you speak to them it's entered into so obviously that's no as I entered in 2009.
Bankruptcy search from solicitors is next hurdle. Will an IVA show here?
