Mortgage for New Build House with an old CCJ still on credit file

Hello,

Just looking for a bit of advice....

I completed my IVA November 2015 and have a couple of credit cards which are being paid off whilst I save for a house deposit.

I have checked my credit file with Checkmyfile and this shows a CCJ with a date of 04/02/2014 and a discharge date of 03/02/2015. I am aware that the CCJ will be removed from my credit file in Feb 2020, but need to know what impact this will have on any mortgage applications (in principle or full applications) that might be actioned before Feb 2020?

Also, does having the CCJ on my credit file affect the ability to be successful for the Governments Help to Buy Equity scheme?

Thanks in advance.

Danny

It will depend on how much the CCJ was for. There are some Lenders entering the Help to Buy market currently who may be willing to accept some historic adverse information being recorded but it will also depend on when the IVA began.

Thanks for the reply Ryan.
I think I will wait until it has been removed from my credit file before checking into mortgages then.

A creditor could apply for a CCJ against you if they suppose you won’t repay the cash you owe them. If the courts consider the creditor, they’ll issue the judgment and tell you to pay the cashback.
