I am changing my job soon which will have a bigger salary & extra expenditure regarding fuel costs along with other increased household costs,My new salary will take in all the extra expenditure along with the amount I pay into my IVA as well as a bit left over for possible increased payments into my IVA.
I have sent my IP a letter telling them about my job change etc & i am waiting for a reply from them.
What i need to know is what proof would they want regarding this job change as i have told them the extra mileage that i will be covering will increase my expenditure significantly.
Will they need to contact my new employers, or just proof of their address or anything else.

Hi
They will not contact your employer.
At worst they may ask for petrol receipts, however as you will still pay the original IVA payments your IP will probably just accept it

Thanks Andy, it's just the fact that ive found a better job with better pay & prospects & dont mind paying a bit extra towards my IVA but only after my IP allows for all the extra expenditure i will undertake in my new job.

That goes without saying pm5! I had a client today withdraw his IVA application because he has just been give a huge pay-rise which has enabled him to restart his contractual payments. We are absolutely delighted for him.

Just wanted to say that when Hubby got his new position and payrise I wrote to our IP with a revised I&E and explained the reasons why we had added a few items in (such as drycleaning costs) and why some had increased and that I was increasing our monthly contribution by £20 as a result of the increase in salary. And they were fine with that well I have't heard to the contrary.

I would assume you wouldnt hear anything otherwise. Usually they seem to be fine with it

Ive just recieved a letter from my IP stating that I have to pay 50% of any additional income stated above my salary when i took out my IVA.
I knew about this which is fine but I phoned my IP up to check whether the 50% comes out after my extra expenditure & i was gobsmacked to hear that the 50% has to be paid before any extra expenditure.
I was told that if my half covers the extra costs i entail then i have to pay this all with my half.
Is that right or not cuz i would have thought the 50% would take effect after all my extra expenditure.

I think I have answered this on another post, but if not I do not agree with your IP but he/she may be right technically.

Hi
But what happens if the increased fuel costs are more than 50% of the paysise ?
Doesn't make sense
It should be 50% of the extra money that you have left over after the increase on costs

I agree - there should be provision for increased expenditure which can be properly verified, which is now largely dealt with under the new protocol where IPs can reduce the payments by up to 15% without the agreement of creditors.

Thanks for your comments Andy & Melanie glad you both agree the 50% should come out after increased expenditure.
Im just wondering whether the girl I spoke to had got it wrong, time will tell i suppose.

Hi
The trouble with some of the larger companies is that you only deal with front line staff who are not fully upto speed on the ins and outs of the IVA.
Don't give in on this point because,in my book, you are right and are being given wrong and unfair info by your IVA provider
