Joined yesterday and already wish i'd known about it when i started my IVA (about 1.5 years ago)

One thing that struck me is the amount of times people have been referred to their IP's

In 18 months, despite MANY attempts i have NEVER spoken to my IP apart from the time it was being set up.

EVERYTIME i get the admin guys. I ask for someone more senior and my IP is never available, never calls back.

I've got queries o/s for over 5 months despite chase up letters. I don't see why i should discuss some queries that surely my IP must make decisions on with admin people who in my experience have been shocking at the best of times. Has anyone else had a really bad time with Accuma's admin in Manchester?

So much for no hassle in an IVA!! lol 2 months to even get a letter responding to mine, which clearly didn't answer any of the real queries i had. It was addressed to my IP but clearly got no-where near them. Complaint letters don't work either, they just take even longer to be responded to, if they do.

Nightmare :(

This isn't unusual to tell you the truth.

I've got one month to go with my IVA and I've never spoken or received a letter even signed by my IP!

Their assistant are the ones who usually deal with you anyway and update your files etc.

Never deal with Accuma, but heard a few tales of bad service...

Chase them up again and say your seriously considering a more formal complaint about your o/s coorespondance.

Good luck

I also heard some negative feedback from Accuma...I never dealt with them, and I was told not to.

I feel like added a big DITO I too have never had a conversation with my IP since the IVA proposal or any correspondence that had been signed by my IP, I can count on one hand how many letters in total I have had from the company, queries I don't bother with them now!!!!!!!!!!! I just post them on here [:D] THANKS

Hey thanks for the comments. It's stupid things like my salary fluctuating every 3 months or so. By the time the sort stuff out it's 6 months after the event actually happened and they are trying to keep charging the same high payment from when i was earning more money (for a whole 3 months) which i told them was temporary.

They are idiots. I wouldnt recommend them

I think thats really bad if you can't speak to your IP, or at least someone who manages your iva and can answer queries[:(]
I have had a few questio pop up along the way of my iva and sure I will have a few more in the future but can always email my ip and get a prompt answer.
I would ask for an email address or ask them to arrange a call with the IP and if not send a recorded letter with your concerns asking them to call you.

Maybe one of the experts will know some email addresses of people at accuma and you could put your IP's name in front of that!

Good luck x

Hi Im with Accuma . I had my iva transferred to them , when my initial provider closed down. I had awful trouble with the admin staff , but I managed to get my ips direct line and email address. If i have a problem I email him and he always gets back to me the same day .Ive had a few problems during the 20 months my iva has been running and he's always been helpful with finding a solution. Which Ip are you with?

I know one of the IPs at Accuma. If you can say which one it is I may be able to help you.

I also have to say I have never spoken to my Ip, but in all honesty I havent felt the need to. I have a personal case manager and so far anything I have queried, they have been very definate in their answers and appear more than capable. I have not been the easiest either I ask for everything to be explained until I understand. I would like to feel though that if I asked to speak to my Ip I would be able to.

I too have never had to contact my IP the few questions I had were answered acurately within minutes ( literally!) by my case manager. I am confident, however, that if I needed to speak to my IP I could. ( It's Melanie G)

But we did have a long chat at the time we were finalising your proposals Max! I can remember you telling me then about your money-saving recipes you were going to cook for the family!

You can find the e-mail addresses of all IPs on the Insolvency Service's website homepage under "Find an IP". Type in the surname of your IP and up will come the details. It is perhaps wise to remember that IPs are fairly busy people, and that is why I encourage all of my clients to use e-mail as a first method of communication. I say this because:-

1 An e-mail cannot get lost - whereas a scrap of paper on my desk with a phone message can!
2 An e-mail cannot deny that they did not receive a call!
3 It is easy to trawl through e-mails during the evening when you are not so busy. I do this as a regular routine and it enables me to keep in touch with my clients on a direct basis if necessary.

Thanks so much to all of you.

Found his details and can now email. I feel so much happier about things. As per another thread that Melanie replied to I am thinking of IT contracting and my salary could be up and down etc and have lots of queries that I know would never have got answered.

You guys rock ;-) Thanks again
