Hi there guys
Im waiting for my creditors meeting to take place which is on the 22nd April. Wish it would hurry up.
The thing is I am behind a couple of payments with Royal Bank and Barclaycard and they have sent a reminder or two!!!, now being 2 months behind should I make a payment in case the IVA fails as if i leave it I feel they might send it on to a debt agency. On my contract it says to stop paying creditors from the moment I reveived that letter but theres a contradiction on another letter saying you I can make token payments in the mean time.
Cheers
Nina

Whether you make a payment or not it will make no difference on the outcome of your meeting, so personally I would not but then it is up to you.

Hi Nina
If you are entering an IVA and your IP is putting forward the proposal they are reasonably confident that the IVa will be accepted.
The only benefit at this time in making any sort of payment is that you will receive fewer tel calls.
However you will need a little war chest to get you by the unforseen car repair bill or boiler breakdown so would suggest you hold tigh.
Any calls simply advise them that you are proposing an IVA with XXXX company and the meeting is on the 22nd of April.
Don't worry about a debt collection agency - they haven't time to organise one before the meeting!.
take care

I would agree with Paul ... once I knew that I was going into an IVA I stopped all payments to my creditors and stocked up my war chest as a contigency plan.

Thanks you guys,
I know its daft and I worry like hell about people turning up and banging on my mums door looking for lil old me and my money. Funny you should say that about the car repair . I have had to just borrow another £300 to have my car repaired from my poor old mother. So I guess the £75 & £47 I was going to pay Barclaycard & Royal Bank can go to stocking my old mother hubbards cupboard!!!
Think Im worried about the IVA failing as I have about 10 creditors and hope they all agree. Had quite a nice letter from Capital One about them acknowleding my IVA. Nice not to receive a nasty letter for a change.
Thanks again for the advice

The waiting for the meeting when given a date is the worst time. But before you know it will all be over & hopefully with a good result. Just hang in there now & keep yourself busy.

Hi Nina
I worried about people comming to the house also, but although this was threatened it never happened. I didn't pay creditors anything for about 6 weeks and all they did was constant phone calls.
Your best, as Debbie sai, to try and save what you can now[:)]
Fingers crossed for the 22nd[:)]
