Hi guys,
As some of you know my husband has now been able to get off of incapacity benefit and back into a job which he loves. We have just received a £100 back to work grant from the government. Will we have to pay this into our IVA or is it classed as a windfall (under the £500 limit). Also I am doing a new income and expenditure because of the increase in our income, I know that our expenditure has gone up (petrol etc) however do we get to keep any extra of it at all. My proposal seems to read that if you have an increase in income you get to keep 50% net after additional expenditure has been taken into account. I just can't seem to get a straight answer on this.
Thanks everyone

Hi
It's a tricky one
I think that you will be able to keep the £100 grant but any extra in your disposible income, shown will have to go into your IVA,however according to the wording of your IVA this may only be 50% of it.
Now's the time to make sure that your I+E is accurate.

As it is a grant for the specific purpose of covering expenses incurred in going back to work, and as it is also very low, then I think that you will be fine. For reassurance though, please speak to your supervisor to put your mind at ease.

Regards.
