Hi Everyone,

In the process of getting an IVA:

Will my recent financial conduct be subject to the same scrutiny (and consequences) that a bankrupt is subject to by the OR? So for example, if I used my credit card just prior to getting an IVA would this count against me?

Will my employer be informed about my IVA or will my employment prospects suffer in any way?

Thanks ...

And congratulations to those that recently sorted out their IVAs.

You employer need not know about your IVA. As for recent credit card use prior to applying for an IVA it would depend on how the card was used, mine was used for fuel and food.If you have bought rolex watches and those jimmy chu shoes then you may be up the creek without the said paddle!!!

once i had made the initial phone call about entering into an iva, hubby and i went to the supermarket to fill the cupboards full of food and i have to say i felt like a criminal, got home and cut it up, infact cut all up even though we were only using the one, just didnt feel right for us to use it again. i suppose each individual knows when its the right time for them to stop using cc.[:(]

Hi
Once you decide on an IVA route you are normally advised to stop paying creditors, once you stop paying you should have no need to use your cards,so cut them up !!
Your credit file will be shot for six years, same as in bankruptcy
