I banked with LLoyds TSB prior to my IVA being approved 18 months ago, they were one of my creditors so I was advised to open a new bank account with a bank I did not owe money to, I did this and I now bank with HBOS.
Now that LLoyds TSB have taken over HBOS will I still be allowed to bank with them or will there be any complications[?][?]
I have a Halifax Easy Cash account, it's so easy to manage, everything can be done online, I would hate to have to change[:(][:(]

As far as I am aware you should not be affected

Ray's correct, I think a lot of people are worried about this but Melanie has said that if you are in an IVA then they can not offset funds. However, any bank can choose to close the account. I think you'll be fine. X

That's right, they can't raid your account when you are in an IVA

Hi There

We banked with LLoyds TSB and opened an account with Halifax when we started our IVA. I was panicking that they might 'plunder' our accountsnow they have merged. Was good to hear that they are not allowed to do that, although I understand they could close the account if they wish.

Does anyone know of another account that has the visa electron card as we have been really pleased with this and our Halifax account.Would be good to have a contingency plan jus in case they close the account!

Hi Roseraie and welcome to the forum. The Co-op Cashminder account comes with a Visa Electron card, so if they weren't one of your creditors that could be worth a thought.
