Hi all,
I have a question which I haven't seen asked in past posts.
My IVA was agreed last Monday therefore leaving me with just a cash card (no debit card) Well my friend has made me an additional card holder on one of her credit cards, but she hasn't given it me she has said it is for ease of paying for certain things like car tax, dentist bills and car servicing etc. She has gone ahead and bought be a prepayment certificate for prescriptions (my monthly cost is £14.20 for 2 items)cost of cert around £100. I am allowed £20 pm for dentist and prescriptions so she has suggested I pay that £20 off the card thus removing the possibility of it getting used for other stuff[:I]
Good idea or not? legal or not?
I know she thinks she is helping me and I am grateful for her gesture
Any input appreciated

cheers

Hi KLG, not an expert, but I'm pretty sure IVA & credit cards are a no no. I'm sure an expert will clarify this shortly.

Hi
As your friend will be solely responsible for the debt it will not technically be a breach of your IVA.However I would advise against using it.

Thanks for replying so quickly,I will obviously give her the money back for the prepayment prescription certificate and tell her not to purchase anything for me on it in the future....I will tell her its not allowed in the IVA T&C's bless her!!!

You can get a prepayment certificate by paying monthly direct debit. It costs £10.25 per month. That's what I do.
