Would I still be able to use my Maestro card which has my salary on it? Because if I give up all my credit cards, I would need to pay bills when cash is not appropriate eg. by post?

If its a credit card you will not be able to use it. You will only be allowed a debit card. You could set up direct debits for your bills

You could also get a pre-paid cash card. I think that Cleardebt offer one of these, and for details you can go to David's website on his profile page.

I think maestro is a debit card, if it is, as others have said, it will be fine.

I have a visa debit card with my current acount and thats allowed as its not a credit card and i have no overdraft facility.

Loads of pre pay credit cards around you could look into also if you don't want to be without a credit card facility,

Hi
If your bank accont that the Maestro card applies to is not one of your creditrs thenyou can keep it.
If it is a card that your wages are paid onto,i;e a pre paid card then again no problem
