Hi,
It will not affect your car insurance however mobile phone contracts probably will unless you are renewing with the same company as others will do a credit check. Your parents house will not be blacklisted

Is that for BR & IVA?

I think so. Maybe an expert can confirm here for sure.

I was allowed to keep my mobile contract when I went into my IVA, and also when I was BR, although I have heard of people having their accounts closed.
I can't help about the car insurance as I'd paid mine up front for the year. I have been able to pay by installments since.
Don't worry, your parent's house won't be blacklisted. If they are linked with you they can file a notice of disassociation. I was living with Dave when I went BR, and some of my debts were at my mum's address and neither of them have had any problems.

Thanks Skippy! My insurance is monthly payments. Mobile is contract with Orange.
Did your parents/dave file a notice of dissaciation?

As your insurance is already paid monthly you'll probably be ok. I don't know what Orange are like, and to be honest I think it varies from person to person. I was allowed to keep my contract by Vodafone, but I've heard of other people having their contracts terminated.
Mum and Dave have never filed a notice of disassociation and since I've been BR Dave has had his credit card limits increased and got a mortgage, and my mum has taken out a loan. Will neither of them learn from my mistakes?!?!

I've just taken out completely new pet insurance with Petplan for our new dog, and had no problem at all with paying monthly.
Car insurance I pay monthly as well and have no problem with that.
Mobile phone has been with O2 for years now. Not tried another one - don't think I dare!

Since I've been discharged from BR I've taken out Pet Insurance with Payplan, started paying for my car insurance monthly, started paying for my contact lenses from Specsavers by direct debit and paying for Setanta (against my better judgement!). I've had no problems with any of these.
