its just the worryhead again-i wish to god co-op would make a decision to accept or bin me. i know it sounds like im being impatient but i only opened the lloyds account yesterday (current)
i am definitely am doing iva start tomorrow-dont know who to go with either and i need to give my employer my new account details.
it would be a real shame if lloyds take my account but i fear its likely to happen due to my £15,000 halifax debt. really ruining my sleep all this worry

You can also try the Yorkshire bank, FD - I gather they will open basic accounts without even credit checking.

Hi Fergiedoggy.

I shouln't worry. Your Lloyds account should be fine. If you got accepted for a current account it is probable that you will get accepted for the co-op basic account.

They do take time with it. It took nearly 3 weeks before I got conformation.

Your Lloyds account should be fine as I think the banks will operate separately from each other.

You could do worse than give Melanie a ring, she does come highly recommended.

Otherwise, visit www.iva.com and look at the companies on there.

This is just my opinion, but if I were you I would go with the Lloyds account - the account, it's a full current account, it's been opened and you can make sure your salary is paid into a new account.

Lloyds aren't linked with Halifax yet, so they're not going to close your account. If they do close it, they have to give you notice, probably 30 days but it would be in the Ts & Cs.

Let the Co-op take their time (they're probably inundated as their basic account is the best one out there!) and I'm sure they'll open the account for you.

fergie my lovely, stop worrying so much or you will make yourself ill.
As soon as I spoke with Melanies team on the phone I felt so reassured and knew that I had the best chance possible of getting an iva in place, it took so much of the worry off my shoulders which was great as I had the creditors to deal with.

When you have 2 accounts open, as I think you plan to do, why not use the other one and keep lloyds as a reserve as you are so worried or open 2 more and don't use lloyds at all.
I don't think any one can give the cast iron guarantee that you are looking for and you may forever worry about them taking your money..Good luck tomorrow, I will be around most of the day and will check for any posts from you[:)]

Don't be scared of Melanie Fergie - she wasn't my IP but I've met her at the Frugal Friends meetings and she is really nice and approachable.

Don't be, Melanie has the most wonderful person called Tina who I spoke first with, she was so amazing I can't tell you. By the time I had finished the convesation with her she had me laughing [:)]

I took advice from 2 different companies and Melanies was far superior and I was looked after all the way until my iva was accepted, and I feel assured that if I ever have a problem it will be delt with efficiently.

i can't recommend Melanie highly enough[:)]

Good luck

You have to do something soon Fergie, otherwise you will be in a worse mess than you are now. They are only human and will not bite. You will be spoken to sympathetically and not judged at all. They do this all the time and are used to people being frightened.

Bite the bullet and pick up that phone tomorrow!
