Just when we thought things were beginning to settle down after we had to move (borrowing £1800 off my folks for the rent and deposit) and then found out we were having a baby the brown stuff has hit the fan again as it appears our Landlord is experiencing severe financial problems with possible proceedings being commenced against her for debt and also the house that we live in might be repossessed!!!

That and the car failed the MOT today with a long list of advisories.

What should I do in respect of our IVA payments (half way through) if the mortgagees take possession of the house and we are left with a very short space of time in whcih to find somewheer new and i know my parents cannot stump up the money again for the deposit and one months rent - [:(]

Still trying to stay positive but it is tough - just keep thinking of nipper.

Oh my goodness, what a nightmare. Congratulations on the baby though, new life always a pleasure to read that. I dont really know what to say to be honest as youre half way through, I guess BR isnt going to be an easy option? All you really want to do is put this behind you and settle down and make a nest. All I can really say is have a word with your IP as to the next move. If you have seriously had enough and cant maintain life in the IVA, have a look at BR, if your employment status isnt going to be affected. At least then you can build up some sort of nest egg missing the payments so you have a roof over your head should the landlord go breasts vertical.

Your hormones will be raising hell right now too, I guess the best thing to do is whats best for you and the baby.

It never rains but it pours sometimes Louisa. Do make sure that your landlord has your security deposit held in a special account, as they are obliged to do now under new legislation recently introducted.

Even if the property is eventually repossessed, you may continue to live there so there is no need to worry initially - you would just pay your rent over to the mortgagees in possession. They will probably be pleased that there is someone living in the property to be honest, from a security aspect.

Thanks for that and love the expression "breasts vertical" freelili - it brought a smile to my face. I think we are just going to have ride the roller coaster and see where it ends up!!! I will email my IPs team and see what advice they give us.
