I would like to know whether anyone on this forum is aware as to exactly what organisations or institutions or any good causes benefit from the income that CCCS (a registered charity) receive from the banks for funding Debt Management Plans or from their own income generated by putting appropriate cases into their own IVA's?

Hi David - as I have said before, I know of none.

I understand that they can claim charitable status as they help to educate people and provide them free advice about their debts. However do not Insolvency Practitioners, Debt Management Companies, R3 etc do this too?

Do CCCS make any contribution to IVA.co.uk, which I think provides a jolly good help line for a lot of people in financial difficulty at no cost?

Form a search on the charity commission website (including a copy of their lastest audited accounts.)

Interesting link Freshstart2008.

I would very much like to register as a charity, receive lots of funding and retain £1.96M after a year of trading.

Grateful if someone can advise on how one goes about it.

Ahhh....looks like we could be headed for the annual November IVA.co.uk "free" versus "paid-for" bun-fight.

Must be something about Christmas looming that turns our mind to charity.

For those who missed it here's last year's tear-up:
